Who We Are

MARA Rural Health Consortium (MARA RHC) is a local Not-for-Profit Company Limited by Guarantee (with no share capital) registered in Uganda. Established on June 23, 2022 (registration: 80020003690282). MARA-RHC collaborates with Lira University, Lira Regional Referral Hospital, and the University of Rochester, USA.

Mission

To work in partnership with local health care centers and academic institutions to develop and manage projects that promote improved health in rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa through research, education and capacity building.

MARA-RHC Objectives

To improve rural health through research and project management for collaborative projects related to prevention and treatment of infections.
To develop partnerships with health facilities in rural areas with research institutions to implement studies with a goal to improve health through acquisition and implementation of new knowledge.
To integrate collaborative research performed in rural areas in partnership with academic institutions such as universities and other research institutes to better understand diseases processes and develop better approaches to prevent and treat disease.
